Bishop Pierce: "God created Man for His own pleasure..."

Bishop Pierce: "God created Man for His own pleasure..."

The third message of the retreat was so powerful, it pulled every man in the building to the altar. Bishop Bryan Pierce used his gift of preaching and singing to take the retreat even higher.

Genesis 1:26 KJV

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

In this text, all of humanity is broken down. God gave man dominion over every creeping thing on the Earth.

GOD DID NOT CREATE MAN OUT OF NEED. He created Man for His own delight. God doesn't have a need but He created us for His own pleasure, which is why He made us in His Own Image.

 Psalm 8:4-5 KJV

“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, And hast crowned him with glory and honour.”

WE MUST STOP APOLOGIZING FOR WHO WE ARE AND JUST BE WHO GOD CALLED US TO BE.

Genesis 3:6 NIV

“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”

When the woman gave the fruit to the man, he knew it wasn't right but he didn't say a word. He was silent. Men have to be vocal. Speak up and stand up.

Colossians 1:15 KJV

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”

We are made from Dirt and Divinity. When God breathed into man He gave man EVERYTHING he needed.

Dirt and divinity (Divinity is the quality of being divine)

We must remember, God has given us the power walk like Him, talk like Him, and do the things in which He has done. So, if he died and got up then we too can get up from any situation that may be holding us down.

Jesus got up with all power in his hand.

At the end of the message, Bishop Pierce used another one of his unique gifts... singing. He sang a song written by Maverick City entitled "Firm Foundation". The lyrics just moved the room. "I'm safe with you. I'm gonna make it through."
