Going into Week 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys, Zach Wilson is no longer the sole quarterback on the Jets' active roster.
Tim Boyle, a seasoned quarterback, was added to the 53-man roster by the New York team on Saturday afternoon to serve as Wilson's primary backup.
Since Aaron Rodgers' Achilles tear on Monday night, Wilson had been the lone quarterback on the Jets' active roster. Randall Cobb, a seasoned wide receiver, was designated as the team's "emergency" quarterback option as of yesterday.
Boyle spent three seasons as Aaron Rodgers' backup for the Green Bay Packers after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Later, he spent time on the main roster of the Detroit Lions and the practice squad of the Chicago Bears.
Boyle has passed for 574 yards, three touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 17 games and three starts in the NFL.
The Jets will kick off against the Cowboys tomorrow at 4:25 p.m. ET with Wilson as their starting quarterback.
