Christian Rapper Hulvey Cancels Sold-Out Amsterdam Show After Discovering Graphic Images in Venue

Christian rap and hip-hop artist Hulvey abruptly canceled a sold-out concert in Amsterdam just hours before showtime after discovering “extremely graphic” and “pornographic” images displayed on the venue’s walls. The location had been changed due to high ticket demand, and Hulvey only learned about the imagery when he arrived for a scheduled meet-and-greet on Friday.

Speaking directly to fans gathered outside, Hulvey explained the decision with conviction:

“I respect God’s creation way too much to make people walk in there and have to see sexual images on a wall.”

He continued, “I stand for Jesus only. If that costs me a show, who cares? Because I answer to Him… I am so sorry, but I will not let any of you guys have to go in there and see that.” The crowd responded with applause.

Venue Refused to Cover the Images

In a follow-up Instagram video, Hulvey confirmed that the venue declined to cover the walls—something he said “was not going to fly,” especially with children expected to attend the concert. With no compromise possible, the show was canceled.

A New Date on the Way

Hulvey assured fans that a rescheduled performance is already in the works. He said numerous churches and alternative venues reached out immediately, offering their spaces and support. According to him, there is “so much flexibility to throw an amazing show.”

Turning a Setback Into Ministry

Reflecting on the situation, Hulvey shared that what began as a canceled concert became something unexpectedly meaningful. After speaking with his brother, who lives in Amsterdam, he realized the moment had encouraged believers across the Netherlands.

“God took a cancelled show and ended up making it way more than I could have imagined,” he said. “Our decisions go way further than we think. God can use that little seed and make it something beautiful.”

A Call to Action for Dutch Fans

Hulvey closed his message with a challenge to his supporters in the Netherlands:

“Please take this and run with it. Bring people to Christ. Show them who Jesus is.”

The cancellation, rooted in conviction, has now become a rallying point for Christian community and outreach—turning a lost performance into a moment of public faith and unity.
