The Power of Faith
By Pastor Allan Thomas • Westlake Family Church • Milwaukee
Focused Bible Verse — NKJV
Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Introduction

Faith is the foundation of the Christian life. It is the force that moves mountains, opens doors, and carries us through seasons we could never endure on our own. Faith is not just belief — it is trust, confidence, and spiritual courage. When we understand the power of faith, we begin to walk in the fullness of what God has promised.

Today, let’s look at three truths that reveal the power of faith in the life of every believer.

1. Faith Sees Beyond What Eyes Can See

Faith gives us vision that goes deeper than circumstances. Where others see obstacles, faith sees opportunities. Where others see impossibility, faith sees God’s ability.

Faith allows us to look past the natural and hold onto the supernatural. It reminds us that God is working even when we cannot trace His hand. Faith is the lens that helps us see God’s promises more clearly than our problems.

2. Faith Moves Us Into Action

Faith is never passive — it pushes us forward. It motivates us to step out, to obey, to trust, and to move even when the path isn’t fully visible.

Every miracle in Scripture required someone to act in faith:

Noah built the ark before the rain.

Abraham walked toward a land he had never seen.

Peter stepped out of the boat before he knew he could stand.

Faith is powerful because it transforms belief into movement. It turns conviction into courage.

3. Faith Connects Us to God’s Power

Faith is the bridge between our weakness and God’s strength.

It is the channel through which God releases His power, His provision, and His promises.

When we operate in faith, we tap into something greater than ourselves. Faith invites God into our situation. Faith unlocks doors that human effort could never open. Faith positions us to receive what only God can give.

Conclusion

Faith is more than a concept — it is a force.

It sees what eyes cannot see, it moves us into action, and it connects us to the limitless power of God.

If we want to walk in victory, we must walk in faith. If we want to see God move, we must believe He will. If we want to experience His promises, we must trust His process.

May we be a people who live boldly, pray confidently, and stand firmly — because faith still works, faith still moves, and faith still has power.
