Father Arrested For Murder After Pushing Girlfriend And Baby From 15th Floor Of New York Building

A New York father accused of forcing his estranged girlfriend off a 15th‑floor balcony while she held their eight‑month‑old daughter has been arrested, according to authorities.

Angel Carrasco, 31, was taken into custody Wednesday by U.S. Marshals and NYPD officers, one day after 23‑year‑old Nathaly Ramirez fell from her Bronx apartment in a deadly plunge.

Investigators say Carrasco shoved Ramirez from the balcony during a confrontation, while she was holding their baby—also named Angel. Residents and first responders found both mother and child critically injured on the ground below. Ramirez was pronounced dead at the hospital; her daughter survived but remains in critical condition.

Police say Carrasco had gone to Ramirez’s apartment in an attempt to reconcile, but the visit escalated into violence when she rejected his efforts. Detectives believe Carrasco lost his temper and pushed her over the railing before fleeing, leaving behind a bouquet of flowers he had brought.

By Wednesday, the NYPD released a wanted poster showing Carrasco inside an elevator holding a large kitchen knife. Hours later, authorities tracked him down and arrested him.

U.S. Marshal Ricky J. Patel called the case “a horrific tragedy,” adding that removing Carrasco from the streets ensures he will face accountability for his alleged actions.

Carrasco’s history with Ramirez included two domestic incidents earlier this year. On January 5, he allegedly slapped her during an argument. Three days later, he was arrested again after reportedly breaking into her apartment and waiting inside, leading to a burglary charge that was later sealed. Sources also say Carrasco previously sent threatening messages to another ex‑girlfriend and has prior arrests dating back to 2016.

Residents inside the building at 2550 Olinville Avenue heard the final moments before Ramirez’s fall. One tenant recalled hearing a man shout “Jump!” followed by a loud thud and Ramirez’s desperate cries.

By Wednesday, a memorial of candles, flowers, and a photo of Ramirez appeared outside the building, alongside a poster noting October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Friends remembered Ramirez as a devoted mother whose life centered around her daughter. Her high school friend Dominique Rosado said even in her final moments, Ramirez’s instinct was to protect her child.
