Faith Evans Ordered to Pay Biggie’s Mother’s Trust More Than $12.5M

Faith Evans has suffered another legal defeat in the ongoing dispute surrounding the business interests of late rap icon The Notorious B.I.G. A Delaware judge has ruled that the trust established for Biggie’s late mother, Voletta Wallace, is entitled to more than $12.5 million in withheld distributions, along with accrued interest.

According to court records, the funds represent Voletta Wallace’s share of earnings generated by Notorious B.I.G., LLC, the company responsible for managing the legendary rapper’s intellectual property. Evans, who oversees the company, argued that Wallace’s trust did not officially become a member of the LLC until December 2025, several months after Wallace passed away in February of that year.

While the court agreed on the trust’s membership date, Judge Kathaleen St. J. McCormick determined that the trust was still entitled to receive all distributions made after Wallace’s death. The ruling rejected efforts to significantly reduce the amount owed and instead awarded the full $12,518,336, plus interest compounded quarterly from the dates the distributions should have been paid.

Evans had also requested permission to place the disputed funds under court control while a separate legal challenge involving her son, Christopher “CJ” Wallace, moves forward in Pennsylvania. The judge denied that request, citing estate documents that identify music executive Wayne Barrow as the sole executor and authorized representative of Wallace’s estate.

The decision marks another courtroom victory for Barrow, who has been locked in a legal battle with Evans over management and ownership rights tied to Biggie’s legacy. Earlier this year, the Delaware Court of Chancery sided with Barrow in a separate ruling, finding that Evans lacked legal grounds to withhold distributions owed to Wallace’s trust.

The conflict extends beyond business matters and into a broader family dispute regarding control of Voletta Wallace’s estate. Before her death, Wallace appointed Barrow as sole trustee, replacing her grandson CJ Wallace. CJ has since challenged those changes, claiming improper influence and questioning revisions made to estate documents shortly before Wallace passed away.

Neither Evans nor her legal team has announced whether they intend to appeal the latest ruling. Meanwhile, Barrow has been given 20 days to submit a final court order reflecting the judge’s decision.

The latest judgment represents a significant financial and legal setback for Evans and further strengthens Barrow’s position in the ongoing fight over the management of The Notorious B.I.G.’s business empire.
